Yorkshire Water have provided the following information concerning their works which are currently requiring one way traffic management on the A61 immediately to the north of Harewood village.
Unfortunately, there is a blockage in the syphon sewer in the village of Harewood. In order to prevent pollution impacting the local watercourse and environment, we are tankering whilst conducting the needed remedial works.
In order to conduct these essential works as safely and efficiently as possible, we are attending site under two-way traffic lights on the A61, enabling us to carry out the work on Fitts Lane Access Road.
We do appreciate how disruptive traffic management measures can be and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all local residents and road users for their continued patience. We are proactively looking to remove the traffic management measures as soon as it is safe to do so and they are no longer required, to improve traffic flow.
Again, we apologise for any disruption and are working hard to resolve the issue, returning the sewer to normal operation, as swiftly as possible.
