July 22nd – date set for No 48 Bus services to resume
Reinstatement of the 48 Bus Route
Following many complaints and after intensive lobbying by Councillors, Harewood Parish Council are delighted to announce that the 48 bus route will be reinstated on a “use it or lose it basis” from July 22nd . There will be three return journeys between Wigton Moor and Leeds City Centre Monday to Friday operated by First Bus.
Funding has been provided by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the service will be monitored closely with regard to passenger use and numbers. Harewood Parish Council and in particular Councillor Howard Foreman and Ross Bystryakov of Wigton Moor, with the support of the local community, have worked tirelessly for the reinstatement of the 48 bus route and this shows a positive example of how a Parish Council can influence the decisions of major organisations such as the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and First Bus for the benefit of its residents.
