Harewood Parish Council
The day has finally come!

**OFFICIAL OPENING Saturday 31 July at 11:00**

Some minor snags in the play area delayed opening earlier this month but these have been rectified. The new playground accessed along Malt Kiln Lane footpath by the Harewood Arms will open officially at 11:00 on Saturday 31 July. Please come along and support your Parish Council.

Unfortunately, our adult outdoor gym equipment could not be installed in time for an opening this month. Setbacks in the manufacturing process due to staff shortages caused by self-isolation to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and a materials shortages due to Brexit, prevented production and delivery. It will be September before our adult gym is ready for use. Nevertheless, the tennis court is fully functional and is now available.

We are not planning to introduce a booking system for the tennis court at present but we ask people to be considerate. If you have been playing for 30mins or more, and other players are waiting, please finish your game and allow the next players to use the court.

The recreation area is provided by Harewood Parish Council as a village amenity. It is free to use and will be maintained and inspected regularly but we need your help to keep the area safe and pleasant for everyone.

To keep the area clean:

·         Please take your litter home or deposit it in one of the two bins provided.

·         Dogs are not allowed in the recreation area

To keep it safe:

·         Report any damage or deterioration of the equipment, gates or fencing to the Parish Clerk 07587 202613

·         Report any anti-social behaviour or vandalism immediately to the Police using the non-emergency number 101 and to the Parish Clerk on the number above.

Only disabled drivers and maintenance staff are permitted to access the recreation area in a vehicle. All other vehicles are prohibited. Malt kiln Lane is a footpath and pedestrians have right of way at all times. Vehicles should stop if necessary to allow pedestrians to pass safely.
