Woodland Safety and Improvement Works at Harewood Estate
This autumn and winter, Harewood will carry out essential woodland works to keep visitors, residents, and road users safe.
Ash dieback and recent extreme weather have left some trees at risk of collapse. To address this, a thinning programme, inline with the Forest Commission approved woodland management plan, will take place along sections of the A61, A659, and the Harewood circular walk between November 2025 and February 2026. These works will remove unsafe trees, improve woodland health, and help protect the historic character of Harewood's landscape. Specimen and veteran trees will be retained and future replanting in these area will favour trees and shrubs that are better at capturing pollution and adaptable to climate change.
Some road closures may be needed, and dates will be shared in advance on Harewood's social channels.
We thank the community for their patience and understanding while this important work takes place. |
